Climate Action Plan

Effective Date: 24 September 2026
Next full review: by September 2029 (progress reported every year)

Our Commitment

AOIT Networks supports the global ambition to limit global warming to 1.5°C. We have signed the SME Climate Commitment, part of the United Nations Race to Zero campaign, and commit to:

  • halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, compared with our baseline year (1 November 2024 to 31 October 2025)
  • reach net zero emissions by 2050 at the latest
  • report our progress publicly every year

This plan applies to AOIT Networks and our hosting brand aoitcloud. It sits alongside our Environmental and Social Responsibility commitments and our Climate Impact Fund.

Where We Are Now

  • Renewable hosting: every server we host runs on 100% renewable energy, and we are a verified green hosting provider with the Green Web Foundation.
  • Remote-first by design: we run our own hosted infrastructure and support tools so that almost all support can be delivered remotely, avoiding unnecessary travel. We have no office of our own to heat or power.
  • Climate Impact Fund: every paid invoice funds tree planting and carbon removal from our own profits.
  • Climate action since 2021: we have supported verified climate projects through Ecologi since 2021.

Our Targets

  1. Measure our footprint. Calculate our full carbon footprint for the baseline year, including our supply chain (scopes 1, 2 and 3), using a recognised carbon calculator, and publish it on this page by 31 March 2027. We will then publish our footprint every year by 31 March.
  2. Halve our emissions by 2030. Reduce our total emissions by at least 50% against the baseline by 31 October 2030, and reach net zero by 2050 at the latest.
  3. Keep our hosting 100% renewable. Keep all of our hosting infrastructure on 100% renewable energy every year, confirmed through our annual Green Web Foundation verification.
  4. Zero hardware to landfill. From 1 November 2026, 100% of the end-of-life devices we dispose of, including partner devices we retire on their behalf, will be reused, refurbished or recycled through certified WEEE routes. We report the number of devices each year.
  5. Remote-first support. From 1 November 2026, resolve at least 90% of support requests remotely each year, and combine on-site visits and use low-carbon transport where practical.
  6. Keep funding climate action. Continue our Climate Impact Fund contribution on 100% of paid invoices, and publish an annual summary of trees planted and carbon removed by 31 March each year.

Carbon removal and offsetting through our Climate Impact Fund is in addition to, not instead of, cutting our own emissions. It does not count towards our reduction targets.

How We Will Deliver It

  • People: our Managing Director is responsible for this plan and sets aside at least one day each quarter to track progress, work with suppliers and update our figures.
  • Technology: we use a recognised carbon calculator to measure our footprint, and our own service management and monitoring systems to track remote support rates and device disposals.
  • Money and materials: the Climate Impact Fund is paid from our own profits, and we budget for certified reuse and recycling of end-of-life hardware.

Working With Others

  • Partners: we help our partners cut their own emissions by extending the life of their devices, recommending efficient cloud and hosting options, supporting them remotely, and showing them the climate impact funded on their behalf in their partner portal.
  • Suppliers: we favour suppliers that use renewable energy or have their own climate targets, and we ask significant suppliers for emissions information when we choose or renew them.
  • Community: we support tree planting, carbon removal and habitat restoration projects in the UK and worldwide through our Climate Impact Fund and Ecologi.
  • Feedback: anyone can share ideas or concerns about our climate impact through our contact form or our Complaints and Grievance Procedure.

Approval and Review

This plan was approved by Andrew Oliver, Managing Director of AOIT Networks Ltd, on 24 September 2026. We report progress against every target on this page each year, and we review and update the full plan at least every 36 months, or sooner if our business changes significantly.
