Our Commitment

AOIT Networks is committed to operating in a just, equitable, diverse and inclusive way, in how we run our business, how we serve our partners, and how we contribute to our community.

AOIT was founded in 2016 out of frustration with an industry that too often put profits before people. Treating people fairly is not an add-on for us, it is the reason the business exists. This commitment applies to AOIT Networks and our hosting brand aoitcloud, and to everyone who works with or for us.

What These Words Mean to Us

  • Justice – dealing honestly and fairly with everyone, and putting things right when we get them wrong.
  • Equity – recognising that not everyone starts from the same place, and removing barriers where we can, rather than treating everyone identically.
  • Diversity – valuing the different backgrounds, identities and experiences of the people we work with and serve.
  • Inclusion – making sure people can access our services, understand our advice and be heard, whoever they are.

In Our Operations

  • We treat everyone we work with fairly and with respect, and we do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or bullying of any kind, in line with the Equality Act 2010 and beyond it.
  • As we grow, we will recruit fairly and inclusively: clear job descriptions, fair and transparent pay, flexible working and paid training, so that talented people from every background can join and thrive.
  • We pay suppliers and freelancers promptly on agreed terms, and we review our policies and supplier choices against these principles.

For Our Partners

  • We give honest advice in plain English, without jargon, so every partner can make informed decisions about their technology, whatever their level of IT knowledge.
  • Our pricing is clear and upfront, with no hidden fees and no pressure to buy services people do not need.
  • Partners can reach us in the way that suits them best: phone, live chat, email or our support portal. If anyone needs information in a different format, we will provide it.
  • We never treat anyone less favourably because of who they are.

In Our Community

Access to finance, networks and straightforward advice is not equally available to everyone starting a business. Through our Inclusive Founders Programme, we remove one of those barriers, the cost of reliable technology, for founders from under-represented groups:

  • AOIT Networks: 5 places a year with 40% off a Total Security package, including unlimited support, for the first 12 months.
  • aoitcloud: 25 places a year of web hosting for £1 a month for 12 months.
  • The programme is open to UK businesses at least 50% owned by people of colour and people from other under-represented ethnic backgrounds, women, trans and non-binary people, disabled people, or LGBTQ+ people. It is run as positive action under section 158 of the Equality Act 2010.
  • We never ask applicants which group they belong to, and never ask for proof of ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.

We also support charities, community groups and faith organisations across the North East and the UK, helping them use technology safely and affordably.

Raising a Concern

If you feel you have been treated unfairly by AOIT, we want to know. Anyone can raise a concern, anonymously if they prefer, through our Complaints and Grievance Procedure. No one will be treated unfavourably for speaking up.

Accountability

Our Managing Director is responsible for this commitment and for making sure it is reflected in our decisions. We review it every year alongside our purpose statement, update this page with the progress we have made, and change our approach when the evidence tells us we need to.
